Empire Turf: Soft, Comfortable Grass

Empire turf is suitable for anyone that loves that soft, squishy feel between their toes as they walk over their lawn – it’s the softest breed we stock! Although not as high-maintenance as some of the Buffalo varieties, regular mowing will need to be performed during Summer. Empire turf is drought tolerant and will happily survive with up to 30-40% shade per day.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

It’s important to note that, although all grass breeds don’t typically respond well to chlorinated or salt water, the Empire turf is particularly bad; having Empire turf grow in the ‘Splash zone’ (within 3-4 Metres of a pool) is particularly risky as Empire will thin out and die quite quickly if in contact with chlorinated water. If your backyard is a high-traffic area, full of kids that splash and dive in nearby pools, you may wish to consider our Nara turf instead.
